1. What is a typical day/week like for you?

2. What is your best memory of starting your career?
Recording my first split with Ancient Hound (@ancienthoundband) up in Boston was a watershed moment for me. Back then I was recording everything on my own and it was incredibly satisfying to be able to hear back something that started off as just an idea in my head.

3. What advice would you give to someone wanting to start a band?

Don’t give anything more than 3 seconds of consideration. If you want to do it, just get it done before the doubt sets in. Even if my songs gain barely any traction, i’m still glad I have them to listen back on as I get older. Also don’t take yourself too seriously. Nothing’s fun if you set expectations.

Netherlands based R&B pop sensation Sharmila has just dropped her latest album.

The self titled album ‘Sharmila’ contains previously written songs and material providing a real variety of styles to listen to.

The 9 track album mixes R&B, Dance and Pop. Containing some of her more known numbers ‘Burning For You (Club Mix)’ - a dance themed anthem, to R&B influenced tracks like ‘Respect Your Body’ and ‘Like A Drug?’.

The R&B dance influenced album is an easy listen for fans. Well produced samples and loops set the foundation for most of the songs. At times you can hear hints of 90’s to early 2000’s rap and R&B influences. Perhaps some inspiration has been drawn from the bigger names from that time like Dre and Eminen, yet there’s dance and club music elements too.

1. What is a typical day/week like for you?
My days are unpredictable and spontaneous. I’m not a routine person so it’s really depends. When I get up and go to work my day is basically just it. And other days when I’m more free I like to go to soho house with my laptop and work from there. Or meet my friends to catch up. Or when I need to relax I paint, and also go to the gym. I mix up my training with lots of different classes to keep It interesting, like boxing and yoga and Pilates and even Crossfit. So I try to keep my days different.

I remember when I just got into high school, my school didn’t have theatre classes as others had and I was really upset about it. I wanted to be an actress since a very young age but I didn’t have the access to it. I asked the pri…



1. What is a typical day/week like for you? Mornings are real estate brokerage work & band admin. I then hit the gym at noon to break up the day, and make sure I can fit back into my spandex at the next show. Afternoons & evenings are usually flex, but often include at least a little songwriting, a voice lesson, or a rehearsal. I like to go out a lot, hang with people and see live music, which helps inspire my music, performance, and life.

2. What is your best memory of the start of your career? My best memories were writing the album with Rob McLemore aka Crayton Huntly. We started this experiment in 2013, and couldn’t believe the amazing music we created together. We inspired each other with a manic excitement I have only experience with him, and I am so grateful to begin writing our next album together too.

3. What advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue music? You have to believe in what you’re doing. Ultimately, that is what motivates you to keep writing…

A typical day for me includes waking up at 5 am for my morning run, being back by about 6:30 - 7
Then I go over my “must do” task for the day along with viewing analytic progress, ensuring we are on par to meet our 30,60,90
I always end up helping a child in some way. We are a startup, but we have made a little money, and with that, I feel it is our job to help the black community so even if that’s means merely buying a kid a burger, or Gatorade, it matters to me.
