Kristen Karma (The Superstar) 🔥🎇🎆 — The Now Legacy

Promoting latest single and video “Dear John” a tribute to her late father

Kristen Karma’s music career has already blossomed in the pop/dance scene in her hometown of Vancouver. Now located in Toronto, Kristen Karma is no stranger to the ever growing music industry. Even though much of her formative years were devoted to a theoretical and exacting world of ballet lessons, Air Cadets, Military Marching Bands, and The Royal Conservatory of Music, some of the only evidence that remains of her past is the neon pink tulle that shoots out from under her black corset. It’s undeniable—Kristen Karma is a band nerd. But she is a band nerd who might punch you in the face for showing up late to practice. Her current single “Party Heroes” has her hard pounding electronic dance sound that is sure to bring your to your feet. The clever constructed lyrics and catchy beats combined heavy powerful guitar solos will leave you wanting more. Already garnering rave reviews with the infectious sounds throughout, this sees Kristen moving into a new share of her music career. Kristen Karma is taking control of her own destiny with a Gold Award in one hand (personally given to her by HRH Prince Edward in 2009) and a black corset in the other. She effortlessly walks the line between an organized and responsibly rehearsed persona who has spent years studying the theory behind her music, and her alter ego who cannot refrain from gallivanting all over the stage during her pop/electronic performances. Karma not only wields a certificate in Audio Engineering from Hot Sole Music, but has studied voice with Judith Rabinovitch, who has worked with the likes of Avril Lavigne and Sarah McLachlan. In 2013, Kristen Karma was selected as one of two performers to play the Lady Gaga Born This Way Ball After-party and open for Tour DJ/Lady Gaga BFF Lady Starlight in Vancouver. With rave reviews from her performance, she then went on to work with lil’Jon on her single Sirens. In 2017, she opened for Grammy Award Winner Akon in Guelph, Ontario on his Canadian Promo Tour. Hot off the heels of her performance, Kristen was then approached and selected to play the Lady Gaga – Joanne World Tour VIP After-party once again in Vancouver after Lady Gaga’s performance at Rogers Arena. Kristen has now teamed up with with Mark Zubek (Zedd Records) to bring you this quirky fun pop single, ‘Party Heroes’. Her previous EP, Destination Unknown, garnered critical success with numerous positive reviews, but Karma’s recordings are far from her only facet that is gaining positive attention from the press.

Q&A Segment  1. What is a typical day/week like for you as a pop singer/songwriter? I always set aside some time each week to write, and play an instrument. I try and write a hook or verse, or lyrics, or get something down that I can work on later. Each day differs, but its also I’m important for me to post on social media and talk to my fans! 2. What is your best memory of the start of your career? My first best memory is from my first or second gig. I entered a band competition and invited my parents who had never heard me sing. With all the nerves and technical malfunctions, we still placed second which was neat! Everyone was a little shocked how I just dived off the deep end took a chance! 3. What advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue a music career? I’d say never give up and just go after what you want. Do your research, learn what it is that you want to do, find a way to do it, and get started. Once you’re backed up with knowledge, it’s key to getting you started. 4. How can you be booked for show/appearance? I’m always looking for new opportunities to perform! If looking to get into contact with me, there is a booking option on my website (www.kristenkarma.com) 5. What’s your favorite album from another artist? Still to this day, it has to be Avril Lavigne’s ‘Let Go’. It got me deeper into music and looking at arrangement, songwriting, and style. 6. What song of yours are you most proud of? Tell us about your music? ‘Dear John’ is definitely one of my most meaningful and personal songs I’ve ever written. I wrote this for my father who passed away from Cancer two years so and wanted to write something in his memory. It’s not only exceeded my exceptions on a musical level, but it’s charted on the Canadian iTunes Top 40 Chart, picked up Best International Song at the American Tracks Music Awards in Los Angeles, and placed in several Indie Film Festivals for the Music Video! 7. What is your biggest accomplishment? There are so many things I’ve done in my career that I’m proud of, but the top would have to be opening for Grammy Winner AKON. It was such an amazing experience to be able to share my music with new fans at a sold-out show like that!

8. Name your top 5 dead or alive favorite artists of all time. Avril Lavigne Lady Gaga Katy Perry Michael Jackson Shania Twain 9. How can you maintain your exposure? Are you currently signed or independent? I am not signed to a record label. When it comes to the exposure I work with a PR Company that helps me out, but I do my own marketing, postings on social media, bookings, and writing! 10. What’s next for Kristen Karma? Currently, I have a few shows coming up and I am in the studio working on some new music. I’m working on putting together an album to be released this year or early next year. www.kristenkarma.com www.facebook.com/officialkristenkarma www.twitter.com/kristenkarma www.instagram.com/kristenkarma
