Fixed fate is an American rock band based out of Lake George, New York. The band continued with a slightly different offering in 2016 with their “Unplugged” EP. After 7 years and hundreds of shows across New York State, the band began promoting the release of their first full length album “A Year in the North”, released May 10th, 2019, featuring 14 brand new original songs. Following the success of their debut, Fixed fate immediately began recording their sophomore effort "Icarus", a 7 song collection featuring a wide range of emotion released on December 15th, 2020. The lead single “Route 29” was released worldwide on Halloween and the album has brought a wider audience to the band while receiving both commercial and critical acclaim.

Question & Interview w/Fixed Rate

1. What is a typical day/week like for you?

My week typically lies somewhere between a tornado and an almost car crash. Lots of

chaos, lots of music, lots of work gets done, and a whole lot of excess in between. 2. What is your best memory of starting your career?

The first time we were asked to play an encore. We played a real small show in Altamont

New York back in 2014 and managed to rip the roof off the place despite feeling we weren't

going to get a good response at the start.

3. What advice would you give to someone wanting to create and market a brand from scratch?

It's about longevity. Once you design your brand it's important not to just let it fade away

after a year and a half of plugging. The longer you put your time into it, the more legitimacy it

will gain amongst the masses.

4. How can others reach out to you for music collaboration information?

All my contact info can be found at Fixedfate.com

5. What’s your next marketing moves for your career?

I'm hoping by the end of the decade to be the first band on the moon. Set your calendars!

July 20th, 2029! I'm kidding, but I mean, if NASA is reading this then *hint hint* I've got a lot of

new music coming down the pipeline and I'm really excited to start recording that and getting it out there. I'm also working to revamp our website soon and begin selling merch in a more

streamlined way. Calling all web designers...I'm single (;

6. Name your top 5 musicians; dead or alive?

5- James Hetfield. That right hand is like an AK-47 and he's doing all those rhythms while

singing! Metallica was my first favorite band so his music holds a special place in my heart. I've

always thought his singing voice on the first 5 records was really underrated as well.

4- Jani Lane. One of the greatest songwriters of our time. He's mostly known for his early 90s

heyday fronting the band Warrant, but he wrote some truly amazing music. Dog Eat Dog,

Ultraphobic, Belly to Belly, Jabberwocky, check them out! He had a knack for fitting meaningful

lyrics into 4 minute catchy songs.

3- Layne Staley. His vocal style and lyrics have had a huge influence on my sound. Alice in

Chains made some great records with him on vocals, and that Mad Season record is one of my

all time favorites. The songs are immediately likable, but I still find myself digging into his lyrics

and finding some powerful stuff.

2- Jeff Keith. My all time favorite singer. Tesla, in my mind, is unmatched on their first 5 records

and this guys voice led them through it. He's another guy that had some fantastic lyrics. He's

also one of the hardest vocalists to match when you sing along to their music. What a talent.

1- Tommy Skeoch. One of two guitarists for Tesla. This guys playing style is unmatched and

every time he plays a solo it sounds like he’s telling the whole world to fuck off. Awesome. His

new band Resist & Bite has a record coming out next week- I can’t wait!
