Meet Joni Sandez - - - The Now Legacy

1. What is a typical day/week like for you?

A: Since the lockdown has lifted we’ve actually been getting a lot of work for the band so we’re just focused on marketing and using different types of campaign to generate more events and fans. Also we have albums that will be released in the near future that need attention so that takes most of my time.

2. What is your best memory of starting your career?

A: There was a period in my life where I used to perform in other bands and it was actually really fun.

They would book for me the hotel and airplane ticket and I would just arrive with my instrument in hand at the show… no stress.

Now that I have my own project there’s a lot more a lot more things going on. I need to think about transportation to the show, accommodations for the people we’re playing for, budgeting, and marketing there’s a lot more to it now I have all this responsibility because well it’s my project. Although I do have managers and promoters there’s also a lot more checking in to see that everything’s flowing correctly.

3. What advice would you give to someone wanting to create and market a brand from scratch?

A: You got to start from ground zero and build it up slowly but surely. If it’s a video or song there’s got to be a lot of promotion for it. I really believe that brand really matters and that in the future it’s really all we will have people will respect us or won’t because of the brand we have.

4. How can others reach out to you for music collaboration information?

A: I’m always down to work with other artists or creators if the setting’s right there’s always something we can create together. Two minds work better than one.

5. What’s your next marketing moves for your career?

A: We have this new album called “Una Practicada Viejon!” that we just released. In terms of marketing I would say we’re going full force on TikTok and for this new album release we have a lot of videos prepped up for release that will be coming out hand in hand with the album.

6. Name your top 5 musicians; dead or alive?

A: Jose Alfredo Jimenez for the sentiment in his voice. Luis Miguel for the technique and dynamics in his range. Michael Jackson maybe for the stage presence and entertainment factor. Elvis Presley for the marketability in his career. The Beatles for the top selling songs.
