Sheh (King) + Nai (Flute) = Shehnai, King of Flutes!
Hi, I'm Ankit Patel. A normal guy learning this ancient, traditional beautiful instrument called a Shehnai. It's my passion to learn, play and show the world that this instrument still exists. The first Shenai was thought to be originated in 2000 BC and today there are only a handful of players in the world. By day, I run an internet marketing firm in Atlanta, and by night I spend time with my beautiful family. When everyone is sleeping, I practice & create music. I also own and play in a Bollywood band (www.jashnatl.com)
1. What is a typical day/week like for you?
I stay very busy. I run and own a Google Ads agency (www.k3.marketing), a podcast (www.pcimpodcast.com), and I teach keyboard to kids via Google Classroom (www.sarangsangeet.com). I'm constantly working on new music projects, creating, practing Shehnai, and spending evenings with family.
2. What is your best memory of starting your career?
My Shehnai Guy channel really took off during lock-down last year. I decided to take the free time produce great content. When I noticed the increased engagement, it was a great feeling and really pushed me to do more.
3. What advice would you give to someone wanting to create and market a brand from scratch?
Put in the the work, research, and be practical. Slow and steady wins the race.
